Brick Mower - Why Are We Doing This 7"? £3.50 RESTOCK found it hard to shift these guys rather good lp for some reason, no idea why. anyway, brick mower play some solid no frills 90s style indie / punk that should float your boat if you have a fancy for something in the mode of archers of loaf and superchunk.
Christie Front Drive - s/t 12" lp £13.00 : RESTOCK the first 12" from CFD, finally repressed. still emo after all these years.
Empire! Empire! - When the Sea... 10" £10.00 first time on vinyl!! early songs, all young and innocent. a little rough round the edges but still as endearing as ever.
Empty Palace - s/t 7" £3.50 snappy little numbers is a cool label with a varied roster, and this is very, um, different, from anything else i stock. as the label says "The Los Angeles outfit takes classic metal songcraft, NWOBHM bombast, and the chiseled precision of Reagan (Thatcher?) Era stadium rock". so there you go! on the off chance this up your street...
Fellow Project - Boots 7" £3.50 : RESTOCK : Fellow Project - Boots 7"4 more tracks of indie rock / punk. these guys have their own sound, but here and there it reminds me of rites of spring and ribbon fix. that's good, right?
Football, etc. - Audible 12" lp £8.00 and here we have it, magnum opus number 2 from everyone's favourite duh-duh duh-duh merchants. footy etcetera have filled out their sound a little and this record sounds amazing, credit to ed rose who they recorded with. it's not a departure, it's still drawn out vocals, pretty melodies, and smooth rhythms, and if you've seen them live on the summer 2013 you'll know exactly what to expect. cracking indie / emo. nobody is going to feel let down by this one.
Giant Peach - Callous & Strange 7" £3.50 RESTOCK kinda murky yet melodic indie rock, rok lok compares them to polvo and helium and i won't come up with something more accurate than that, so i'll steal it.
Good Grief / Eureka California - split 7" £3.50 this is one of those records that has led the opposite of a charmed life, but hey, it's out now. eureka california deliver 2 sun drenched lo-fi indie / pop songs made for driving around with the window down listening to err, your in car record player. good grief is from liverpool and these 3 songs are just the most killer fuzzy pop punk you'll hear. probably the catchiest thing i have ever released? a bit of a superchunk thing perhaps but that's a lazy comparison (from a lazy guy). none of you emos will buy this but whatever, i am super happy to be putting these songs out as they are so spot on. go and listen to 'another round' on the player below and tell me i am not wrong!
Hoofprints - Secretly Destroying Honesty : tape £5.00 some solid indiemo here, some of it sounds more thank a little braid-y to me. with mercy from football etc.
Imaginary Pants - s/t 7" £3.50 Imaginary Pants - s/t 7"rose melberg and jon manning play indie pop. winner!
Kid Brother Collective - Highway Miles 2x12" lp £12.00 RESTOCK this is a reissue if some rocking indiemo from quite some time ago. mixes up jimmy eat world, knapsack and texas is the reason. remember when every band sounded like this?
the Knew - What's Hip 7" £3.50 some power poppin' stuff here that reminds me a bit of riverboat gamblers in a way, mixed with rocket from the crypt's poppier moments? give it a whirl!
Living Room - Dream Journal : tape £5.00 catchy, whiney, twiddly midwestmo. a bit like early jazz june maybe?
Papaya - s/t 12" EP £8.00 Debut 12" by this post punk outfit from Portugal featuring members of Adorno. All bendy and grooving.
Parquet Courts - American Specialities "Play Pinball! finally got some more tokens to drop in the machine after over a year of basking in the unholy glory that is VIDEO--rising back with a nice 12" pressing of Parquet Courts demo tape that was released almost exactly a year prior. American Specialties is a much stranger collection of recordings than their incredible (official) debut LP, Light Up Gold, but it's equally as pleasing. That awesome (but a little messy) tape was sent to Play Pinball's tried and true pal, David Willingham, at The Echo Lab in Denton to work his magic and boy howdy, this remaster sounds better than hoped."
Penfold - Amateurs & Professionals 12" lp £11.00 RESTOCK these guys were ahead of the game, ripping off mineral in 1998! smart move by count your lucky stars to reissue this on vinyl. get your sweater on !
Places We Slept - Peeled 12" lp 7 slices of summery indie rock perfection, tinged with just a tiny bit of promise ring to keep you honest. not quite as fuzzy or buried as some of their recent stuff with a little more focus on the melody. this is the record you are looking for.
Red Hare - Nites of Midnite 12" lp £12.00 Red Hare - Nites of Midnite 12" lp yeah this'll do. ex swiz / dag nasty / bluetip punx. sounds about how you'd expect. old guys keeping it inspiring.
Rika - How To Draw A River 12" lp £12.00 Rika - How To Draw A River 12" lpRika deliver their first full length, moving away slightly from the heavy Mineral influence of before into more indie rock territory. impressive record.
Secret Smoker - Terminal Architecture 12" lp £9.00 Secret Smoker - Terminal Architecture 12" lpdon't get many bands reaching back into the mid 90s so make the most of it when you hear one. definite vibes of stuff like amber inn mixed with life at these speeds and REDS. heard very little about this band to date, hopefully that will change as this album has some cracking songs.
Spells - Take Time 7" £3.50 this is some cool, catchy melodic punk rock with great vocals and a knack for a chorus. nice one.
Static Me - s/t 12" lp £9.00 Static Me hail from Cologne, Germany and play some pretty melodic yet brooding punk. maybe a bit like Terrible Feelings?
