Onwards and upwards in 2016!

SF082 - Harrowed / Art Of Burning Water - Split 7"
Harrowed is a power trio melding d-beat with the more “modern” hardcore stylings of Cursed or Converge, with some nifty flourishes of powerviolence and doom in the mix for good measure. It’s stripped down and brutal in a non-boneheaded way, yet remains innately melodic, epic and heavy.
Art Of Burning Water continue to sound like themselves much to everyone's worry, on a mission to annoy all and sundry with their slightly faster take on their usual off-kilter noise-rock with definite hardcore leanings, like a sped up Keelhaul partying with Motorhead.

SF073 - Kind Eyes - It's OK It's Not OK LP
Superb and strange discordant emotional hardcore using just guitar, drums and voice. Think Shotmaker, Tiny Hawks and Unwound. Records are done. Just waiting for some more sleeves and inserts to be made, stick the records in and then it's good to go.

SF074 - Humans The Size Of Microphones - Human Crop Circles LP
This is a small run of LPs by this obscure but classic band that mixed up crashing, chaotic Ebullition style hardcore with a uniquely British eccentricity. Records are done and I just got the art which needs a bit of tweaking but it's nearly ready to print.

SF081 - Beg - s/t 7"
The second release from the Art Of Burning Water / Afternoon Gentlemen experimental grindcore offshoot, implementing unusual and unexpected influences within a seven minute window. Records are done, just trying to sort out how to do the very emo artwork.

SF083 - Nervous Mothers / Art Of Burning Water - Split 7"
Nervous Mothers are actually four Belgian dudes that have served time in a number of other very fine bands. They unleash some severely harsh riffing that has some blasting, emo-violence tinged, near-grind drumming that often stick-shifts into downtuned sludge action by way of Coalesce-esque walls of atonal noise slabs.
Art Of Burning Water continue their mission to annoy all and sundry with their slightly faster take on their usual off-kilter noise-rock with definite hardcore leanings, like a sped up Keelhaul partying with Motorhead. A brutal slow-burner this time round.

SF088 - Birushanah - Makyo 2xLP
Hailing from Japan, Birushanah work somewhere between doom and post-hardcore, using a guitar / voice / drums framework augmented by trash percussion sounds. They spin song lengths out to a dizzying extent and somehow intermingle a recognisably traditional, tribal bent to the melodies and progressions without sounding like complete and utter novelty prog nonsense. A unique, special band.

SF086 - Art Of Burning Water - Between Life And Nowhere LP
Album number six, can you believe it? Maybe on a more melodic rocking tip, which is relative with AOBW, but this is 20 mins of more class mangled hardcore punk.

SF078 - The Process - The Covenant Of The Cosmos LP
Had to reject the tests because of a sizeable glitch on the B-side but it sounded good aside from that. Awaiting new tests so fingers crossed.

SF089 - The Death Of Her Money - Ghost Pains LP
The third album from the Wales-based shoegaze doomers. Not sent this off to press yet but will do soon.
https://superfirecords.bandcamp.com/alb … t-pains-lp

SF084 - Famine / Art Of Burning Water - Split 7"
Famine from Leeds make absolutely cracking fastcore powerviolence and went all weird to try and match the absolute majesty of AOBW, who do more of the goddamn same thankfully.
https://superfirecords.bandcamp.com/alb … er-split-7

SF087 - Crows / Beast As God - Split 7"
Crows make some of the smartest moshy hardcore out there, while Notts supergroup Beast As God hark back the mid 90's, evoking the spirit of Disembodied, Ire and Catharsis.

SF076 - The Day Man Lost / Suffering Mind - Split 7"
Grind for your mind right here, with two bands who are sadly pretty much defunct. UK vs Poland on this one.

SF085 - Skylark - 2nd LP
Album number two, can you believe it? Killer London trio making some twisty turny . Expect unabashed usage of saxophone.
https://skylark.bandcamp.com/album/lp2

SF091 - Mangle / Fetus Christ - SPlit 7"
Two killer UK DIY powerviolent grind outfits, this is still happening I reckon.

SF092 - Atomck LP
Unusual, scattershot grinding from Bristol, good dudes backed hard. Recorded, needs mixing and then so on from there.

SF093 - Nothing Clean / Higgs Boson - Split 7"
A crazed UK powerviolence mess battles Norwegian tight fastcore.

And these are still hot from 2015:

SF075 - Crows - Better Off Dead LP
Crows from Dublin absolutely bring some of the most satisfyingly crunchy hardcore I've heard in a long time. Ten songs of anger, power, mosh, breakdowns, singalongs that sound catchy and killer.
https://superfirecords.bandcamp.com/alb … ff-dead-lp

SF077 - Clocked Out - s/t LP
Clocked Out are from north of the border and have been making killer thrashy punk for years now. This is their first full-length and is bursting with energy, tightness and attitude.
https://superfirecords.bandcamp.com/album/s-t-lp-3

SF080 - Jotnarr - Burn And Bury LP
Black metal fused to a belligerently hardcore punk backbone, topped off with elements of screamo.
https://superfirecords.bandcamp.com/alb … nd-bury-lp

SF090 - Godhole vs Crozier - Anthrophobia 7"
Savagely dissonant yet emotive grindcore powerviolence trio team up with Scottish harsh noise legend.
https://superfirecords.bandcamp.com/alb … rophobia-7

Some recent additions include Amps For Christ, Bastard Noise, Baxter Stockman, Billy Bao, Bismuth, Carrion Sunflower, Chips & Beer zine, Cloud Rat, Disrotted, Drugs Of Faith, Endless Grinning Skulls, Erectile Dementia, Foreseen, Gattaca, Geriatric Unit, Give, Grand Collapse, Gridlink, Holy Money, Jungbluth, Kowloon Walled City, Magic Circle, Mammoth Grinder, Moss, Multicult, Nothing Clean, Pallbearer, Piss, Sete Star Sept, Snob, Sofy Major, Thou, Throat, Today Is The Day, Torch Runner, Trainwreck, Triac and Unyielding Love.
