-- NEW IN --

Brick Mower - Why Are We Doing This 7"?    £3.50 RESTOCK found it hard to shift these guys rather good lp for some reason, no idea why. anyway, brick mower play some solid no frills 90s style indie / punk that should float your boat if you have a fancy for something in the mode of archers of loaf and superchunk.

Christie Front Drive - s/t 12" lp    £13.00 : RESTOCK the first 12" from CFD, finally repressed. still emo after all these years.

Empire! Empire! - When the Sea... 10"    £10.00 first time on vinyl!! early songs, all young and innocent. a little rough round the edges but still as endearing as ever.

Empty Palace - s/t 7"    £3.50 snappy little numbers is a cool label with a varied roster, and this is very, um, different, from anything else i stock. as the label says "The Los Angeles outfit takes classic metal songcraft, NWOBHM bombast, and the chiseled precision of Reagan (Thatcher?) Era stadium rock". so there you go! on the off chance this up your street...

Fellow Project - Boots 7"    £3.50 : RESTOCK : Fellow Project - Boots 7"4 more tracks of indie rock / punk. these guys have their own sound, but here and there it reminds me of rites of spring and ribbon fix. that's good, right?

Football, etc. - Audible 12" lp    £8.00 and here we have it, magnum opus number 2 from everyone's favourite duh-duh duh-duh merchants. footy etcetera have filled out their sound a little and this record sounds amazing, credit to ed rose who they recorded with. it's not a departure, it's still drawn out vocals, pretty melodies, and smooth rhythms, and if you've seen them live on the summer 2013 you'll know exactly what to expect. cracking indie / emo. nobody is going to feel let down by this one.

Giant Peach - Callous & Strange 7"    £3.50 RESTOCK kinda murky yet melodic indie rock, rok lok compares them to polvo and helium and i won't come up with something more accurate than that, so i'll steal it.

Good Grief / Eureka California - split 7"    £3.50 this is one of those records that has led the opposite of a charmed life, but hey, it's out now. eureka california deliver 2 sun drenched lo-fi indie / pop songs made for driving around with the window down listening to err, your in car record player. good grief is from liverpool and these 3 songs are just the most killer fuzzy pop punk you'll hear. probably the catchiest thing i have ever released? a bit of a superchunk thing perhaps but that's a lazy comparison (from a lazy guy). none of you emos will buy this but whatever, i am super happy to be putting these songs out as they are so spot on. go and listen to 'another round' on the player below and tell me i am not wrong!

Hoofprints - Secretly Destroying Honesty : tape    £5.00 some solid indiemo here, some of it sounds more thank a little braid-y to me. with mercy from football etc.

Imaginary Pants - s/t 7"    £3.50 Imaginary Pants - s/t 7"rose melberg and jon manning play indie pop. winner!

Kid Brother Collective - Highway Miles 2x12" lp    £12.00 RESTOCK this is a reissue if some rocking indiemo from quite some time ago. mixes up jimmy eat world, knapsack and texas is the reason. remember when every band sounded like this?

the Knew - What's Hip 7"    £3.50 some power poppin' stuff here that reminds me a bit of riverboat gamblers in a way, mixed with rocket from the crypt's poppier moments? give it a whirl!

Living Room - Dream Journal : tape    £5.00 catchy, whiney, twiddly midwestmo. a bit like early jazz june maybe?

Papaya - s/t 12" EP    £8.00 Debut 12" by this post punk outfit from Portugal featuring members of Adorno. All bendy and grooving.

Parquet Courts - American Specialities "Play Pinball! finally got some more tokens to drop in the machine after over a year of basking in the unholy glory that is VIDEO--rising back with a nice 12" pressing of Parquet Courts demo tape that was released almost exactly a year prior. American Specialties is a much stranger collection of recordings than their incredible (official) debut LP, Light Up Gold, but it's equally as pleasing. That awesome (but a little messy) tape was sent to Play Pinball's tried and true pal, David Willingham, at The Echo Lab in Denton to work his magic and boy howdy, this remaster sounds better than hoped."

Penfold - Amateurs & Professionals 12" lp    £11.00 RESTOCK these guys were ahead of the game, ripping off mineral in 1998! smart move by count your lucky stars to reissue this on vinyl. get your sweater on !

Places We Slept - Peeled 12" lp 7 slices of summery indie rock perfection, tinged with just a tiny bit of promise ring to keep you honest. not quite as fuzzy or buried as some of their recent stuff with a little more focus on the melody. this is the record you are looking for.

Red Hare - Nites of Midnite 12" lp    £12.00 Red Hare - Nites of Midnite 12" lp yeah this'll do. ex swiz / dag nasty / bluetip punx. sounds about how you'd expect. old guys keeping it inspiring.

Rika - How To Draw A River 12" lp    £12.00 Rika - How To Draw A River 12" lpRika deliver their first full length, moving away slightly from the heavy Mineral influence of before into more indie rock territory. impressive record.

Secret Smoker - Terminal Architecture 12" lp    £9.00 Secret Smoker - Terminal Architecture 12" lpdon't get many bands reaching back into the mid 90s so make the most of it when you hear one. definite vibes of stuff like amber inn mixed with life at these speeds and REDS. heard very little about this band to date, hopefully that will change as this album has some cracking songs.

Spells - Take Time 7"    £3.50 this is some cool, catchy melodic punk rock with great vocals and a knack for a chorus. nice one.

Static Me - s/t 12" lp    £9.00 Static Me hail from Cologne, Germany and play some pretty melodic yet brooding punk. maybe a bit like Terrible Feelings?

7“

AXIS: SOVA - Past The Edge 7" (richie - Two-shot blast from this dazzling low-culture, high-impact unit from Chicago. Past the Edge smacks ya around with Martin Rev’s suicidal pulse and the type of twisted fretboard abuse that warrants enough respect to keep us from mocking Helios Creed’s cowboy hat to his face. Grading on a Curve is the soundtrack to an uninvited chemically-induced journey. A bad one.) 6.00

BIG TITS - Ex Repeater 7" (fuzz city - Lo-Fi Glam Pop from Brooklyn NY via California. With WARM SODA serving as his backing band, JOEY GENOVESE pops up with two nuggets of fuzzy garage glam pop candy for your sweet tooth.) 7.00

BITS OF SHIT - Meat Thump 7" (total punk - BITS OF SHIT are the toughest gang in town. Four jean vested droogs out for a good time who aren't scared to show some muscle if the situation arises. The club everyone wants to be a part of but no one wants to stand across from. Well the boys really delivers on this one. Two tracks of brain crushing punk. Ferocious, guitar damaged, and completely essential. Mid-era Flag with an unhinged loon as a front man who howls, growls, and sneers his way through both tracks. Equal parts Bonn Scott and Johnny Rotten. I don't know what cave they dragged this guy out of, but they're the better for it because he's got the best voice in the game. The living embodiment of every character Lee Ving played in the early ‘80s and just the kind of guy you want leading your club.) 6.50

COLD SHOWERS - still life 7" (dias - The beautiful, enigmatic shoegaze bliss of L.A.’s own COLD SHOWERS returns to Dais with a new single. Two virgin cuts which bring their lush heartbeat back to life. The Fire, a fluid post punk anthem drenched in romantic heartbreak, crying to the masses for love. On the heels is Crowds, an acoustic, crooning diamond which shines through the daybreak. Limited to 500 copies.) 7.00

COP CITY / CHILL PILLARS - Gift Shop 7" (hozac - Once in a while a new life form will come to the surface, emerge from the primordial ooze and crawl ashore, develop legs where its fins used to be, and spearhead an unknown species into the world, and we can't think of anything more apt to try and wrap our heads around the mellifluous, other-worldly sounds coming from the warped brains of COP CITY / CHILL PILLARS. Their debut LP on Florida's Dying was a breakthrough in pop music no one saw coming, a delusional, charmingly repetitive, future/primitive ride through their tunnel-visioned world of vaporizers and jazzercisers, that you never quite recover from. The vocals are what corners you first, sounding like a trio of sub-sea level zombies huffing canned air in an Office Max parking lot in search of hooks, not brains, and by the time their DEVO-esque guitar tone knocks your head back, they've already invaded your orifices and have planted their seed deep within. It takes pretty big balls to have a sound this against the grain in this day and age, and with the perfected minimalism Cop City / Chill Pillars have honed into their own space-junk sound, it's with great excitement that we get to shove this deranged slab of spoiled pop music into the world.) 6.00

COSMONAUTS - Wear Your Hair Like A Weapon 7" (volar - OC-based psych/garage powerhouse COSMONAUTS navigate terrain laid down by MC5, Velvet Underground, and Spacemen 3, also explored in recent years by the likes of Ty Segall and Black Angels, and morph it in something wholly their own, at once sonic and melodic, after cutting their teeth the last few years with LPs on Burger Records and Permanent Records and a 7" on Austin Psych Fest.) 65.0

DANIEL BACHMAN - brother green 7" (tompkins square - DANIEL BACHMAN returns with two songs not included on his recent Seven Pines full-length release. Bachman is a 22 year old musician born and raised in Fredericksburg, Virginia. He has been playing what he describes as "psychedelic appalachia" since he was a teenager, releasing small run editions of tapes, CDs and LPs for the past three years, with a sound that evolved from drones and banjos to a now guitar centered focus. Touring off and on since the age of 17, Bachman has managed to cover thorough ground across the US, sharing stages with like minded folk such as fellow Fredericksburg native Jack Rose, for whom he fashioned the artwork for the posthumous release of Luck In The Valley.  Bachman’s sound is a combination of homesick worried blues and the ecstatic buzz of fresh experience and a new life in unknown territory. Familiar and known, but also seeking to access memories from lives past, dead and gone.) 6.50

EVIL WRATH / NUNSLAUGHTER - split 7" (haunted hotel - The masters of American devil metal go toe to toe with some evil Canadians. Packaged in full color glue pocket covers.) 6.50

GOLDEN PELICANS - the earls 7" (total punk - Orlando's keepers of the dump are back with a brand new 7" on Total Punk. Last year they proved they were the toughest gang in O-Town with their "Hard Head" single, and now with “The Earls” encroaching on their turf, the GOLDEN PELICANS really bring the muscle. Two tracks of pounding raw punk slop covered in feedback and all held together by KING G's gravelly vocals. 100% grade A TOTAL PUNK.) 6.50

LAS ARDILLAS - linda nina 7" (slovenly - "If San Juan punks Las Ardillas remind you a little of those other San Juan punks Davila 666 it might be because the bands share a drummer, 'The Latin Snake,' and Giancarlo who handles the snotty lead vocals for Ardillas. But Ardillas actually predate Davila by quite a few years and, more importantly, they are pretty different bands. Live, this seasoned quintet is unrestrained and unrepentant. They play like no one's watching and rock like it isn't going to hurt tomorrow. On wax, however, their solid-state songwriting is revealed in all its naked glory. There's a powerful undertow of nostalgia to their late '70s punk, proto-punk and power pop inspired tunes. The lyrics soaked in classically unquiet desperation combined with full-throated vocal harmonies and darkly hooky choruses tap into everything that's been making teenagers around the world fall in love with punk since, well, no one quite agrees on that, which is for the best. Though they've been around for more than a decade, their 2011 LP was their first recorded statement. That's about to change, though, with this new single 'Linda Niña' and their second full-length "Canciones de Amor, Locura y Muerte" happening later this year."—MTV Iggy) 7.00

LIVIDS - your house or the cordhouse 7" (slovenly - Slovenly Recordings is amped as fuck to present a new single from Brooklyn, New York's Livids. You can expect nothing less than a screaming 1!2!3!4! rock'n'roll attack on this platter. Two quick and merciless buzz-punk blasts on the A-side are followed on the flip with a raunchy spin on Iggy Pop's '79 classic twister, "New Values.") 7.00

MANATEEES -  Destruktor 7" (tic tac totally- Let's not pad a perfectly good sledgehammer! Following their single on Goner Records, Memphis' finest come up with their mission statement here, with two holes in your head drilled as urgently as anything I've perceived since Black Flag released the fucking Damaged LP! It rips in that kind of organically unclean way. Nothing here is contrived. The A-side, "BEAST", and the flip-side, "WITCH" dig into the cavernous remains of the human condition, expressing a kind of tortured urgency, guilt, and then finally, nihilistic self-acceptance. This is the torch, a rainbow of sleaze, pulling colors from metal, brutal honesty, drugs, Witches, Warlocks, and rock n' roll...this is the torch lighting the Manateees' reality. The tainted prospect for salvation through the desire to find a "Witch" on the flip-side is equally delicious and malnutritious! The shit here is like a pill for the pop-culture-cancer patients out there, people sucking in the usual total crap that means absolutely nothing, and in no way relates to real human beings and their real lives. Call the cremator cuz this shit is hot enough to burn through the human skull boy!) 6.00

NEIGHBORHOOD BRATS - Birth Right 7" (deranged - Los Angeles, CA's Neighborhood Brats bring four tracks to their Deranged debut 7", featuring female vocals and melodic punk guitars that border on a garage sound akin to Vice Squad or the punker moments of White Lung. Features members of Neo Cons and check out the Youth Of Today cover.) 5.00

SIDA - same 7" (sweet rot - Sweet Rot's Strasbourg series continues (after releases by The Anals, A.H. Kraken, The Feeling of Love and Teledetente 666) with the debut 7" by SIDA. You could make the case that each of the four songs here has elements of the aforementioned bands but SIDA clearly have their own thing going on with the bordering on tribal drumming, the subdued synth, the strong female vocals, and the sometimes droning/sometimes no-wavy guitar all expertly recorded by (who else?) SEB NORMAL. The 7 minute a-side track "Apollo 13" is a lurching, hypnotic jammer that the word "epic" was invented for. The flip side has three shorter blasts, some rhythmic and glammy, some freaked out and noisy. 300 copies with some seriously great cover art on the usual deluxe Sweet Rot style sleeve.) 7.00

SOLID ATTITUDE - Dash-ex 7" (sweet rot - Sweet Rot is pleased to present the second 7" from Iowa City's SOLID ATTITUDE. We were huge fans of the band's debut single and LP on Rotted Tooth and feel that they are two of the most underrated punk records from the US of the past few years. On this new release Solid Attitude continue to bring their burly, Midwest, punk/garage/hardcore sound and show that they are just as comfortable going directly for the throat ("Dash-Ex") as they are going for the slow burn ("Creeping Quilt") all of which has drawn comparisons to bands like Tyvek and even The Stooges. Added to the mix this time is some pretty fucking sweet sax on both songs contributed by JUSTIN from WET HAIR. 300 copies.) 7.00

SUPERCHUNK - Me And You And Jackie Mittoo 7" (merge - SUPERCHUNK returns with an alternate version of “Me and You and Jackie Mittoo” from the upcoming album I Hate Music. B-side features the non-album cut “Sunset Arcade.” Limited to 1,500 copies on neon yellow transluscent vinyl. Includes a download) 6.00

VACATION CLUB - Daydream 7" (randy - VACATION CLUB are four young roughs with tendencies to burn bridges and bend light. Purveyors of weekend sexuality and punk ritual. Their psychedelia has nothing to do with hippies or flowers or LSD, thank God. Naw man, they're taking peyote in the basement with the someone's daughter setting things on fire. They're chasing a light through a tunnel only to end up emerging from the other end soaking wet and reborn. They're in the middle of an Indiana cornfield dancing naked with a tribe of virgins offering sacrifices to the gods of rock 'n' roll. This is a seriously potent record, containing two choice slices of rock n roll that melt your brain as much as they shake your ass. For fans of The Strange Boys, Velvet Underground, Apache Dropout and Jacuzzi Boys.) 6.50

VERMA - Chrome 7" (hozac - Chicago's imminent heavy psych heavy hitters VERMA have burst upon the city like a tornado inside of an Aurora Borealis, lighting up the sky with kaleidoscopic, soaring vocal explosions, and an implacable undulating rhythm that sets off reverberations that can be felt by "the heads" several states away in every direction. With an unwavering kraut rock backbone and spidery guitar lines interwoven through their impenetrable maze of haze, somewhere off in the distance, lead vocalist WHITNEY JOHNSON’s lofty siren's scream penetrates the dense fog and coalesces their darkly throbbing waves into two sides of sinister psychedelic noise that will make your heart beat right out of your chest. Although not as driftingly ethereal as their previous releases, of which, their latest was composed for a soundtrack, these two bursts of catastrophic high-energy throb showcase their intensely controlled detonations, which blast off this 7" slab like a demon cast from the heavens and right into the frontal lobe of your fragile mind.) 6.00

WINTER BEAR - Jump In The Fire 7" (hozac - WINTER BEAR is the latest project from ERIN DORBIN, the multi-talented singer/songwriter/guitarist from the sorely missed CAVE WEDDINGS, who takes the reigns here and knocks out two summertime classics, brimming with the sunshine-soaked pop perfection you should expect from this underground pop songwriting champ. After relocating to the Milwaukee area after the demise of Cave Weddings in 2009, Dorbin spent a few months in the all-girl band THE SPECTRAS before settling in for the colder months and writing her spectacular solo material, in our opinion some of the best she’s ever produced, and we’re ecstatic to release the debut Winter Bear single into the wild this summer. The snarling girl group toughness shines through the heavenly layers of vocals like a diamond in the dark, combining to form a tightly wound pop rocket, conjuring a Nikki Corvette fronting The Reigning Sound, or Shangri-Las meets Shannon & the Clams sound running through the outtakes of Buddy Holly’s songbook, gushing through these two songs on the debut single that we guarantee you won’t be able to stop playing. Absolutely ripping pop songs that don’t let up or get soft in the middle.) 6.00

WOODS - Be All, Be Easy 7" (woodsist – back in stock - The recording of these songs serves as a farewell to Rear House, Woods’ home, recording studio, creative refuge and beloved shithole for ten long years. “God’s Children” is a classic Kinks tune from the soundtrack to the 1971 British film Percy; “Be All, Be Easy,” originally from 2011’s Sun and Shade, was rerecorded to capture the live form that’s taken shape since its original release. Both are the first to feature new drummer, Aaron Neveu.) 6.00

WRECK & REFERENCE - no content 7" (felnser - Formed in 2011 by drummer Ignat Frege and multi-instrumentalist Felix Skinner, San Francisco, California’s Wreck and Reference play by their own rules, employing only drums, vocals and a Korg sampler. After releasing the highly-acclaimed Black Cassette demo (later reissued on vinyl through The Flenser), the pair unleased their debut full-length Youth in 2012, catapulting them to the forefront of unconventional heavy music. The album generated widespread critical praise, with Invisible Oranges declaring that the forward-thinking band “pushes the traditional metal template toward regions unexplored, expanding the sonic legacies of Swans’ filth and Big Black’s harshness.” Now, Wreck and Reference return with a new genre-defying two-song 7-inch, Content (pronounced “No Content”). Heavy and experimental with nods to post-metal, industrial, electronic, noise and doom, the duo’s latest work is unorthodox and captivating. The devastatingly somber and addictive “Absurdities and Echos” is more melodic and atmospheric than anything the band has done before, while “Abhorrence” is concise and raw.) 6.50

____  ( W E   D O N ' T   H A V E   A   N A M E )   -   s a m e   L P (diy - after a great demo - this is the debut Lp - self released by the band and ltd to 300 copies Post black-metal band from Pilsen, Czech republic. They were founded in the end of 2011 and started with playing concerts at march of 2012. They play a mixture of black-metal, post-hardcore and screamo with ambient elements. Their current lyrics were written about the personal feelings of the members and are separated to four parts (songs) of their present set.The members of the band have played with bands like Barrel, Owls are not what they seem, Demoralyzer, or noise projects Be aching to see and K-lxm.) 10.00

ACCIDENTE - ACCIDENTE LP (la agonia – awesome catchy female fronted punkrock from spain http://laagoniadevivir.bandcamp.com/alb … p-out-now) 10.00

A F F L I C T E D   M A N   -   I ' m   O f f   M e   Ä ' e a d   L P (permanent - I’m Off Me ‘Ead is DIY psych punk (or “Hippy Punk” as STEVE HALL calls it) at it’s finest, but don’t just take my word for it. Heavyweight record aficionados such as Henry Rollins, Byron Coley, Tom Lax, Doug Mosurock, and Geoffrey Weiss are BIG fans… ““Afflicted Man's style could best described at stock-in-trade Brit DIY w/an almost Street Level sort've quality to it…Too freaked out for punks, too punked out for freaks…must've felt like a rusty safety pin stuck straight through the heart of whatever DIY fanbase Hall had acquired. And for all the Pink Fairies or Hawkwind type's that mighta come across it, it was too primitive & animalistic for their quid.”—Siltblog. We here at Permanent absolutely love this record and are incomprehensibly honored to be the label reissuing it on vinyl for the first time ever. It’s been fully licensed by Steve Hall himself and painstakingly remastered by the total pros at Penguin Recording in Eagle Rock. The jacket artwork was graciously reconstituted and touched-up by Bill “Trouble In Mind” Roe. The full-color I’m Off Me ‘Ead inner sleeve contains a bunch of unseen AFFLICTED MAN photos, an unpublished interview with Steve Hall and a fully authorized reprint of Chris Stigliano’s article from Forced Exposure #9 (Winter 1986).) 19.00

ALLFITS - Nada, Corre, Vuela LP (saltamarges - Three years after their first full album, this young but experienced line-up releases their second work. It’s a mix of Rock, Shoegaze with mor Hardcore-like vocals, lyricks and attitude, as they show us with these verses from the album-opening song “Renoceronte”:  “We dance with that fire, where one day all started and With hard innocenc Against the leader” They don’t lack any attitude or gift, maybe due to the mix of youth and experience, yet they carry two national tours, one european tour and Primavera Sound or FIB acts on their shoulders.) 10.00

ARIEL PINK - trash & burn DLP (human hear - An absorbing look at Ariel Rosenberg's early musique concrète epic. "As with stored memories one has acquired early in life, Thrash and Burn survives for me less as a finished piece of music in/itself or even a moment captured in time; more a catalog of lifetimes, each piece unique and unnamed, together they recall glimpses of forgotten future- pasts; in cosmology, as one peers ever deeper into the void, first beyond the fixed population density of stars nestled in a 'suburb' at the outer edge of our galaxy, into an evermore all- encompassing blackness surrounding a thin lane of galaxies, one heads off in one direction, floating along a lonely string of Christmas lights which recede with the distance. Much further downstream, a giant wall of light scaffolding fades into view. That is destiny's orphan multiverse inhabiting a single frame in its infancy. In time, we would transcend it. From where we stand our footsteps recede and fade into the darkness. But our beginnings are not lost; for someone standing off and above our horizon, in a human ear much more young, the secret of our coming of age shall be preserved revealed and discovered yet once again...." ) 24.00

BARE MUTANTS - Affliction LP (in the red - From the bands he was wrapped up in early in his teenage years, such as The Muggles, Defilers, Real Cool Killers, and the formidable Guilty Pleasures, to his ascent to mainstream recognition with The Ponys, it’s clear that Jered Gummere is known as one of the most important songwriters of our generation. His influence on pop music over the first half of this century is undeniable, impacting most notably Jay Reatard, and much of the current Brooklyn sound, right up to all the modern bands that still try to capture that elusive something The Ponys delivered on a nightly basis. Ahead of their time undoubtedly, and with that same pioneering spirit fully intact, Gummere’s newest assemblage, Bare Mutants, coalesces all of the most pivotal nuances of his repertoire into a perfectly minimal, mid-tempo snapshot of this morosely powerful tone.) 16.00

BASSHOLES - Boogieman Stew LP (columbus discount - A lot of bands mellow with age. It's so prevalent among punk bands, that it's become pretty much a joke. Nervous initiates, the world over, when trying to appear cool or in-the-know, have fallen back on this "rule" for at least a couple decades now. The claim, "Eh, I like their early stuff" has wafted through the air of a million shitty parties, insoluble in a cloud of beer stink, in a hundred different languages. I digress. Point is, in the case of THE BASSHOLES, this is patently fucking false. The Bassholes, eschewing the trope above, seem to change with the world at large, getting stranger and meaner, as the environment dictates. A two-headed monster, evolving in the fallout, into a mutant beast screeching and echoing the cacophony of western life in the year after the world was supposed to end. It's been 13 years since their debut and the Bassholes are definitely weirder and more dangerous than ever (their music's pretty strange, too—har, har, har). Greener pastures of the post-Bush years are revealed to be just more scorched earth, and our two-headed monster gets ready to trudge thru the radioactive swamps of the tomorrow. Better wear some boots. Edition of 500 copies.) 18.00

BIG BOYS - Fun Fun Fun LP (540 - “If you were to find a person unfamiliar with the BIG BOYS they would be one lucky son of a gun because they would be about to have their whole trip turned inside out. Fun, Fun, Fun... is the gateway to whole new world of empowerment. Anything in life is possible as long you have a positive attitude and this 12" to sing along to. You wanna skate ditches? Let's go! You wanna paint outside the lines? Do it loud! You wanna rock? Go start your own band! Fx3s got all the things to move your ass, a short HC ripper, a couple funk numbers (complete with horns - necessary) and the oh-so-important infectious anthemic tracks that tie the whole scene together. Part Kool & the Gang, part Angelic Upstarts, Black Flag and John Coltrane, they drew from a wide vein of musical inspiration in their quest to open minds and instill a creative, uplifting, socially aware ethos. All that being said they did the whole thing with a smile the size of Texas itself. Fun, Fun, Fun... A gift so nice, they named it thrice.”—Jensen Ward. Includes a 24-page 12”x12” booklet.) 17.00

BLACK TIME - black out LP (monolith sound - Monolith Sound proudly presents a limited reissue of BLACK TIME’s stunning debut album, Blackout. Out of print for nearly a decade, this is the album that introduced the world to Black Time’s dangerous brand of garage art-punk. Falling somewhere between the Dangerhouse sound and the Cheater Slicks, London's Black Time hands us what is easily one of the greatest punk albums of its era. Housed in sixties style tip-on jackets featuring remastered artwork and insert.) 18.00

BODY 11 – youth LP (medical - Medical Records returns to Germany for the reissue of two essential pieces of wave history. BODY 11 is/was the one-man project of TIM STICKELBRUCKS. Inspired by the late ‘70s/early ‘80s icons such as OMD, Human League, and Cabaret Voltaire, Tim wrote and recorded 4 songs in 1987 in his apartment and self-released the “Mind” 7 inch EP in 1988. Rather obscure at the time, the 7” gained cult status later in the ‘90s when collectors and word of mouth fans began seeking out copies of the record. Soon thereafter, the cost of obtaining an original skyrocketed on the collector’s market. Medical Records is proud to reissue the “Mind” EP 4 songs along with unreleased recordings created at the same time. The unreleased tracks were songs that were distributed only on cassette (to friends, etc) at the time. The tracks have been transferred from cassette and have been remastered by Jacob Jacobsen for this reissue. The LP embodies the essence of the EBM (electronic body music) subgenre that was prevalent in the late ‘80s. Though retaining a DIY/demo feel, the tracks have a warm synth/beat laced mood that will surprise and delight fans of this era who are not knowledgeable of Body 11. Fans of early Nitzer Ebb, Front 242, late ‘80s industrial (Wax Trax, Nettwerk) and even early Skinny Puppy will find this collection essential. This is long overdue for reissue and presentation to the world. This reissue/collection is presented on high-quality 180gram “milky clear” vinyl. The jacket art was envisioned by Tim Stickelbrucks with inspiration from the original “Mind” EP front cover art. Features bonus insert with liner notes by Kurt B. Reighley. Limited edition) 20.00

BOTANIST - IV: Mandragora LP (flenser - Unconventional one-man black metal band Botanist features vocals, drums, and hammered dulcimer instrumentation. Their fourth full-length, IV: Mandragora, released via experimental metal label The Flenser, is a concept album on the alchemical creation of a mandrake, told from the perspective of The Botanist. A crazed man of science, he dwells in self-imposed exile, as far away as possible from humanity and its crimes against nature. The Botanist surrounds himself with plants and flowers, finding solace in the company of the Natural world and envisioning the destruction of mankind. In the Verdant Realm, his sanctuary of fantasy and wonder, The Botanist awaits the day when humans will either die or kill each other off, thereby allowing plants to make the Earth green once again. Botanist’s previous releases, I: The Suicide Tree, II: A Rose From the Dead (released July 2011 on tUMULt), and III: Doom in Bloom (TotalRust), have seen much critical acclaim, landing on NPR’s 25 Best Metal Albums of 2011, Metal Sucks’ Top 15 Metal Albums of 2011 and Metal Injection’s Top 10 Releases of 2011, and earning an honorable mention on Pitchfork’s Top 40 Albums of 2011. This next eccentric and remarkable chapter is sure to turn heads in 2013.) 17.00

CAIRO GANG - Tiny Rebels LP (emoty cellar - Tiny Rebels is a new collection of songs by THE CAIRO GANG. They are about awareness. They show a new economy in the work of The Cairo Gang'sleader EMMETT KELLY, conjuring up quick and defined songs un-housed in the shimmering of two burning electric 12-string guitars. The sound of them a swirling desert night sky under which songs call to arms multiple voices that long to be freed from the constraints of song. To be re-blooded in a frenzy of hard hitting drums and bass. All the while set against a wild array of compressed overtones that jangle by the hand of Kelly's inversly delicate touch. In The Cairo Gang's previous efforts The Corner Man and the Bonnie 'Prince' Billy collaboration The Wondershow of the World, Kelly displayed a heaviness in subtlety. The sound of this record is what distinguishes it the most from previous works. Each song has the same instrumentation. two electric 12-string guitars, bass, and drums, with many voices often double tracked exciting a gorgeous spring reverberation and cut fiercely onto quarter inch tape. Always in the red and fighting for space, the layers are deeply compressed and pulsating, creating an un-ease that fluctuates as if the listener is in a vacuum, pushing and pulling. When cranked, it sounds as if there is music happening beyond the music. in the abstraction of the guitar sound. In the spacial irrecognition of the tape and reverb. The nonpresence of the drums.. the jagged tremoloes.. The Cairo Gang has armed itself well on this record. turn it up loud and let it wash over you like an ocean.) 16.00

COFFINS - buried death LP (20 buck spin - On their 3rd LP Tokyo’s Coffins are firmly established as the underground’s leading purveyors of neanderthal paced doomed death metal. Previous LPs “The Other Side Of Blasphemy” and “Mortuary In Darkness” introduced Coffins’ black tar dirge to an audience eager for slowppressive maniac riffs and songs dragged forth like the arms of a lumbering ape. Derivative and true rather then progressive and new, with an effectiveness unmatched in today’s underground, recalling Bay Area forefathers, Autopsy. Immediately battering the listener with the opening sledgehammer “Under The Stench” the album crawls ever forward through the catchiest Coffins tracks ever, like the Frost at 16 RPM narcoplunder of “Cadaver Blood”. The patented brick heavy guitar tone remains and the band has added some additional solos and high vocal screams, hinted at on 2006’s “The Other Side...” LP. Rather than toy with forced “evolution” Coffins has instead sharpened and honed its devolved sound further in its primitive singlemindedness.) 17.00

CRAIG LEON - nommos LP (superior viaduct - Essential, limited edition reissue. Includes download code redeemable from the label** Craig Leon's incredible 'Nommos' is a hugely sought-after artefact from the crucible of New York's early '80s post-punk scene, first released somewhat incongruously on John Fahey's Takoma label in 1981. While well known to diggers such as Julian Cope, whose Head Heritage hailed it as "the missing link between the proto-industrial rhythm and drone of Suicide and whole minimalist drone / static / repetition method of Terry Riley and La Monte Young", it largely eluded the rest of us until a natty bootleg issue crept outta Glasgow in 2011 and veritably tore the head of all those lucky enough to nab a copy. Now given a proper remaster, and presented with the original Takoma artwork, one of the most fascinating records we've ever heard has just got even better, crossing paths between motorik Afro-futurist rhythm, hypnotic vortices and ecstatic, visceral synth noise with lysergically heightened clarity. The closest comparisons we could draw range from the furthest studio works of Bruce Gilbert and co's Dome studio, to Leon's own early work on Suicide's debut album or the keenly minimal efficiency of Conny Plank and German innovators such as Cluster. Yet, its wayward arrangements, galvanised percussions and feel for electrifying dissonance marks it out as a genuine anomaly, and light years away from the likes of The Ramones or Blondie, whom Leon also produced during this era. It's nothing short of a minor masterpiece, one of those records you'll return to time and again, and practically guaranteed to leave you with a mind on fire.) 18.00

CROWBAR - Broken Glass LP (emetic - REISSUED ON VINYL!!! “New Orleans metal band CROWBAR was originally comprised of vocalist/guitarist KIRK WINDSTEIN, guitarist MATT THOMAS, bassist TODD STRANGE, and drummer CRAIG NUMENMACHER. Once known as the SLUGS, the band's slow, grinding, heavy sound has alternately been tagged sludge metal and sludgecore, and has drawn comparisons both vocally and musically to Pantera, the Melvins, and Tad. Debuting in 1992 with Obedience Through Suffering, they subsequently signed to Pavement Music and issued albums including 1993's Crowbar and 1995's Time Heals Nothing. Drummer Numenmacher subsequently left the band, and was temporarily replaced by JIMMY BOWER, also the rhythm guitarist for kindred spirits EYEHATEGOD. Guitarist SAMMY PIERRE DUET, formerly of ACID BATH, joined up for 1996's Broken Glass following the departure of original guitarist Thomas.”—AllMusic. First time on vinyl, edition of 500 copies.) 18.00

DAN MELCHIOR - k 85 LP (homeless - “K-85 is one of DAN MELCHIOR’s more song-based albums, with lo-fi electronic interludes interspersed between and occasionally through. Lyrical themes deal with some familiar standbys: isolation, daily humdrum, contempt for contemporary culture and a failure to be honest with ourselves. An occasional feigned Luddism might seem at odds with the bastard synthesising of traditional folk, but reflects more a weariness with his world from which solace can be found in the love of his wife LETHA. For those unaware, it's an ideal album to begin their discovery of Dan's amazingly rich, varied and consistent body of work—and as his first release on an Australian label we can hope that happens in spades—while his loyal fanbase need it as much as any of his previous releases. Let it be known that we here at Aarght Records are nursing a professional jealousy at Homeless' coup in releasing K-85. This is a brilliant record.” Australian import.) 20.00

DEATHRITE - into extiction LP (per koro - DEATHRITE is undoubtedly the definite embodiment of the unholy alliance of music's heaviest spawns. Already smashing skulls and breaking necks with their previous releases, their 1st proper full-length "into extinction" even exceeds these earlier recordings with its uncontainable fury, knuckle-dragging brutality and filthy riff bombardment. DEATHRITE merged only the most severe elements of death-metal, grindcore, hardcore and punk to create an absolutely merciless, harsh record that stands out like a monument of savagery in nowadays watered down scene - a fact also valid for their forceful, stunning live performance that most likely turns into a beer- and blood-soaked mayhem. "into extinction" is the perfect remedy for people who think that the latest NAILS record wasn't heavy enough. "into extinction" comes with a 350gr thick cover, lyricsheet, black innersleeve and includes a digital download card. This album crushes every fake ever.) 11.00

DIE GESUNDEN - Die Gesunden LP (medical - Medical Records returns to Germany for the reissue of two essential pieces of wave history. MR-022 is the wunderbar release by Berlin’s DIE GESUNDEN. Die Gesunden (translated to the healthy ones) was the mostly the duo of MABEL ASCHENNELLER and ESCHI REHM (who sadly passed away on November 12, 2008). They were also joined on drums by THOMAS WYDLER (who later became known for his membership in NICK CAVE AND THE BAD SEEDS). Taking influences from Kraftwerk, Roxy Music, and Eno/Bowie (who were coincidentally recording Low in Berlin at this time), Die Gesunden was one of the first Neue Deutsche Welle outfits. The self-titled LP was released in 1982 on Innovative Communication which was the independent record label formed by Klaus Schulze in 1978 after Klaus became very interested in the earliest Berlin Neue Deutsche Welle bands (such as Ideal, etc). Mabel was very involved in the Berlin scene such as promoting local gigs for the early Einstürzende Neubauten in 1981 and shows at the Exxcess club (with shows by the Cure amongst other bands in their infancy) which also inspired the birth of Die Gesunden. Die Gesunden did fairly well around Germany with one of the highlights being a tour in 1981 supporting DAF (Deutsche Amerikanische Freundschaft). The LP is a diverse collection of songs that display a jagged electronic quality showcased throughout with hints of power electronics mixed with synth pop. Overall, the record is a very diverse listen and will surely appeal to fans of early Neue Deutsche Welle (early Der Plan) as well as proto-industrial and experimental new wave. At the same time, it is definitely one of a kind and has no record that it can be directly compared. Contains bonus track of cover of “Waiting For My Man.” This reissue is presented on high-quality 180gram opaque “baby pink” vinyl. Features slight alteration and reinterpretation of the original front cover and redesigned back cover. Limited edition.) 20.00

EGO SUMMIT - same LP (540 - “I can almost remember the day that Rep sent me the first issue of this LP. Taking it out of the package I glommed the title, looked at who was participating and snorted appreciatively. EGO SUMMIT—perfect! DON HOWLAND, JIM SHEPARD, RON HOUSE, TOMMY JAY and MICHAEL were all guys whose impact on the world of music (as it is known) was questionable, but all of them were well-known at the sub-underground level, and it was damn certain they all felt like kings! Between them they had created sounds and records that were legendary and influential, but the fact that they were all bums dedicated to living in Columbus, Ohio made the reality of their impact something that was hard to appreciate if you lived further away than Dayton (home of GBV). But as the years peeled away, oddball record collectors (and perhaps, even, the women who love them) have come to appreciate the insane form-moves this cabal of record collectors was up to. By the time of this release, they’d been putting out records for years, with bands as diverse as GIBSON BROS., BASSHOLES, VERTICAL SLIT, V-3, GREAT PLAINS, MIKE REP & THE QUOTA, TRUE BELIEVERS (OH), and in various solo incarnations of one form or another. Each had evolved a dinstinctive sound, redolent of every goddamn record he’d ever heard—from Ramblin’ Thomas to the Twinkeyz to Armand Schaubroeck Steals to Destroy All Monsters, and they were ready to roll it all out.) 15.00

ELSE MARIE PADE + JACOB KIRKEGAARD - svaevninger LP (important - Gorgeous electronic collaboration between JACOB KIRKEGAARD and ELSE MARIE PADE. Else Marie Pade (born December 2, 1924 in Aarhus) is a Danish composer. An educated composer, Pade pioneered electronic music and concrete music in Denmark. She knew and worked with Pierre Schaeffer and Karlheinz Stockhausen. Pade was active in the resistance during the Second World War, and was interned at the Frøslev prison camp from 1944 till the end of the war. An archival collection of Else Marie Pade's electronic work will be released on Important in 2013. Jakob Kierkegaard is a Danish artist who explores sound art from a scientific perspective. He has released 3 solo records and a collaborative work with Phillip Jeck for the esteemed Touch label. LP pressed in an edition of 500 copies.) 20.00

Everything seems to change, usually for the worse. Death is inevitable, though when it will come can rarely be predicted. Amidst all the flux here is a certainty: FRAMTID plays ripping d-beat raw punk, and they will never change. At the same time as their new album is released, the first in over a decade, 540 Records presents a vinyl collection of their four early demo cassettes. Most remarkable is how consistent Framtid’s vision has been, since first set down on a rehearsal tape in 1997. There is no chaff, nothing extraneous: just short, sharp bursts of feedback, noise, distortion, pummeling drums, and memorable råpunk riffs. This LP’s release accompanied their first visit to the United States, some years after border authorities had halted a previously planned one. What many suspected then became clear in 2013: Framtid is the most powerful live hardcore band on the planet, playing with ferocity unmatched by their peers (particularly drummer TAKAYAMA, who it seems barely survives the all-out effort he gives).) 16.00

FOLLAKZOID - Li rmx 12" (bym - This album—released on the Chilean BYM label—brings together the finest musicians of Sacred Bones Records, PSYCHIC ILLS and MOON DUO, into one unique work, featuring songs from acclaimed Santiago group FOLLAKZOID’s II album. This assemble becomes the top of the crop easily, with steady motorik, hazy psychedelia and space atmospheres, taking the kosmiche Chilean music to NYC and then launching it into Outer Space. Features the cut “9” remixed by Psychic Ills, backed by “Trees” remixed by Moon Duo. FRED NEIL - s/t LP (4 men with beard - FRED NEIL’s 1966 debut contains some of his best known (and most covered) songs including "Dolphins," "That's The Bag I'm In," and the future theme song to the 1969 blockbuster film "Midnight Cowboy" (and Harry Nilsson hit) "Everybody's Talkin'." Absolutely stunning folk-blues from a Greenwich Village master.) 19.00

GRIME - Deteriorate LP (forcefield - Hailing from Trieste, Italy, GRIME channel the essence of sludge and doom metal into an ugly, vitriolic, black cacophony. Their debut full length will leave you with a sick and unsettling feeling deep in the recesses of your stomach, yet you will be unable to suppress the desire to bang your head into oblivion. Featuring ex members of THE SECRET, Deteriorate was recorded at Igloo Audiofactory in Italy by ENRICO BARALDI and mixed and mastered by sound wizard BILLY ANDERSON with ominous and expertly crafted art from JASON BARNETT. Grime’s debut fits perfectly in any record collection next to Eyehategod, Iron Monkey, Grief, and Buzzov-en. The LP will consist of two different color variants on heavy weight 180 gram vinyl encased with black dust sleeves and full color jackets with a poster and download card. The limited run is oxygen rich blood haze of oxblood red and grimace purple and a larger run of grey and red haze.   “The only possible explanation for Deteriorate is that the band found a deeper basement to record in, under a filthier murder shack….this album will crush your moral compass until you’re making a call about doing something bad. And that’s a good thing.” – Decibel Magazine) 15.00

HEAVY TIMES - fix it alone LP (hozac - Chicago's most hated band on the world's most hated record label, what could go wrong? But don't believe what you've read in the papers, HEAVY TIMES are certainly back with their massive third album, mainlining 18 tracks in 33 minutes for maximum impact to your safely guarded danger zones, and simultaneously scoring the soundtrack to your summer of sickness. Picking up where the razored edge of Jacker left off and screaming off into the stratosphere where their heavenly guitar interplay weaves a complicated yet natural web around their unique and peerless punk sound, Heavy Times have raised the bar undoubtedly, and you'd better be ready. Recorded with COOPER CRAIN from Bitchin' Bajas/CAVE, this album jumps out of the grooves and shakes you senseless from one song style to the next, displaying a range and variety most modern punk bands wouldn't even understand, let alone be able to keep up with. Through all the dizzying highs, the sobering lows, and the creamy middles, Heavy Times are quickly mastering their form roght before our eyes and it's never been more evident as on the Fix It Alone LP, one incredible album that's a benchmark for modern punk, with all the hooks you just can't find in books.) 16.00

ISIS - celestial DLP (robotic empire - Isis's classic debut full- length Celestial highlights the band's roots in metal and hardcore while displaying the post-rock and ambient experimentation for which they became best known. It was described by Decibel Magazine as "a transitional record between the band's early work and the post-metal benchmarks such as Oceanic... the elements of the greatness are present, but rawer, more direct.") 21.00

JOAN OF ARC - testimonium songs LP (polyvinyl - Testimonium Songs collects the song cycle composed by Joan of Arc (Tim Kinsella, Bobby Burg, and Theo Katsaounis) to be performed live in Testimonium, a work of performance by well-respected experimental theater ensemble Every House Has a Door. Testimonium responds -- both in substance and in style --to Charles Reznikoff's monumental work Testimony, a translation into poetry of courtroom transcripts of witness and victim testimonies in criminal cases and cases of workplace negligence, in the US, spanning the years 1885 to 1915. Performances of Testimonium incorporate modern dance, theater, and original songs written and played by Joan of Arc.) 16.00

LANTERN - rock 'n' roll rorschach LP (sophomore lounge - Orbiting around the songwriter duo of ZACHARY DEVEREUX FAIRBROTHER and EMILY ROBB (with SHEER AGONY’s CHRISTIAN SIMMONS on skins, imported from Montreal), LANTERN rises in the form of neon fumes from Philadelphia side-street sewer lids, to inspire, to perspire, to pummel forward. The Fairbrother-and-Robb team spawned their relentless dark force on labels like Bathetic and Night-People, twisting, perverting, and penetrating open ears with the scent of rotten, sultry soul, fanged fuzz and wah, boogie-downers, jungle night-moves, exercises in exorcism, black leather, and sex. With the help of fellow Philly engineering magick-maker, JEFF ZEIGLER (Purling Hiss, Kurt Vile, Clockcleaner), Rock 'n' Roll Rorschach marks a shift from the blown-out hiss of lo-fidelity, four-track home recordings toward a more balanced and discernable breed of raw, unflinching power. Lantern melts genres together, rockabullying weirdo blues into a frenzy of fuzzed-up soloing and glammed-down dance beats, ultimately resulting in a mound of grooves garnering moves from the '80s and '90s garage-rock rattles of Dead Moon, Gibson Bros, and Billy Childish to the '60s and '70s pre-punk lore of Hasil Adkins, Flaming Groovies, or even The Velvet Underground. Edition of 500 copies.) 17.00

LA MACHINE - Phases & Repetition LP (castle face - “The year was 1996 (a guess really), when I had LA MACHINE play in our Olneyville warehouse space. It was the first time I danced in front of other people. (I was later told I was really good). I think maybe it was the first time I can recall where I stood in front of something I would consider modern psychedelic music. Not a rehash of some ghost from the past but something new to me. We had a plethora of hardcore, improv, and noise bands in New England... but this... this was something different. It was churning and it had a haunting floor-scraping ass on it. It had hints of nausea and a cyclic simplicity that to this day I still love and listen to often. Loudly, stoned, driving through the desert, laughing. They played and my friends skated the quarter pipe my flate mate had built...it was my first successful party and I thank La Machine for it. RICK PELLTIER and JOHN LOPER have compiled these tunes for us to release post-mortem, but who knows...maybe they will come back to haunt a warehouse near you...OoOoOoOH. Every song reminds me of when I was younger, stronger, and faster. But now I know enough to realize how lucky I actually was to have this stuff around me. And now you can too. Enjoy.”—John Dwyer (4.30.13). Lovingly remastered from the original cassette with new original art by WILLIAM KEIHN.) 16.00

MAMMOTH GRINDER - underworlds LP (20 buck spin - It’s been nearly four years since the last Mammoth Grinder full-length, Extinction of Humanity, was released via Relapse Records (CD) and Cyclopean Records (vinyl). That album showcased the band’s direction into a distinctly death metal permutation, full of aggression and punk rawness, and they continued in this spirit on 2011’s split LP with fellow Austin, Texas-based group Hatred Surge. Now, after a long wait and much anticipation, Mammoth Grinder has found a home on 20 Buck Spin for the release of their wildly destructive third full-length Underworlds  Mammoth Grinder is a live act and that is where the songs on Underworlds will expose their most virulent strain—the band has plans to tour extensively upon the album’s release, including an appearance at this year’s Power of the Riff festival.) 17.00

MASTER MUSICIANS OF BUKKAKE - Far West LP (important - On Far West, the MASTER MUSICIANS OF BUKKAKE mark a turn from their Totem Trilogy. If the Totems were an expression of yang energy, then the Far West cycle is the yin that took seed within the trilogy. What happens when you travel so far east looking for enlightenment that you pass your destination and are headed west again? The mania of being lost in the mountains of the Cascade Corridor, searching aimlessly for the Northern Pacific coast. A spiritual Donner party of sorts, feeding off fantasy and mirages and imaginary shamans. Far West is the soundtrack to this expedition to the caves of light we all travel into with hopes of acquiring redemption, only to realize our bodies have dissolved—gone like rain from the sky, snow from the ground, thoughts from the mind. The sound of Far West is a progressive folk record inspired by Paul Giovanni's Wicker Man soundtrack, early Canterbury prog folk, the suspenseful soundtracks of Goblin and Ennio Morricone, Gerry Goldsmith's interwoven dark orchestrations, and Pacific Northwest folk rock.) 18.00

MOUNTAIN GOATS - all hail west texas LP (merge - The last of the “all-home-recordings albums” by THE MOUNTAIN GOATS and the only one about which that claim is true, All Hail West Texas was originally released as a free-standing compact disc on the late, lamented Emperor Jones. That was about a decade ago. The songs were originally transferred from the cassettes onto which they were recorded to 1/2” reels at Tiny Telephone by ALEX NEWPORT. Remastered from those reels, along with 7 unearthed songs from the two surviving contemporaneous cassettes, All Hail West Texas stands as the peak of the Mountain Goats’ home recording era, a time people like to refer to as “when JOHN DARNIELLE had his four-track,” except John did not actually use a four-track. He used the condenser mic of a Panasonic boombox and there was no overdubbing. All songs recorded on the day they were written, usually within minutes of the actual composition. Highlights include “Jenny,” “Fall of the Star High School Running Back,” and “The Best Ever Death Metal Band in Denton,” a song which has compelled audiences around the globe to yell “Hail Satan,” and to mean it. Package art features a newly penned 1,800-word essay by John detailing his songwriting and recording process for the album. The LP (on vinyl now for the first time in North America) is packaged in a deluxe gatefold jacket and includes a digital download of the full record plus the seven additional tracks. The CD, which includes the full album and extra tracks on one disc, comes in a premium digipak with a 12-page booklet.) 18.00

NIGHTSLUG - dismal fucker LP (per koro - Hailing from the depths of Germany, come the sludge beast NIGHTSLUG. The trio added another taproot to the dendrite of metal by taking the ‘massive riff with the brakes full on’ template by bands like COFFINS, TOADLIQUOR and extreme metal pioneers CELTIC FROST. Their 1st full-length, recorded in the sacred halls of the Tonmeisterei, "dismal fucker" is a raw, harsh and fucked up journey of 8 disillusioning, angry songs with pissed off vocals, lots of noise and unholy riffs - influenced by both punk and metal, NIGHTSLUG steering the genre away from the speedier end of the spectrum - although losing none of the visceral, heavy (Hell)hammer in the face power - they took it instead in the opposite direction, towards the low, detuned sludge and doom that so many metal/hardcore heads have come to know and love. Why play music fast when you can play it so slow and low that it can drive real human beings clinically insane? “dismal fucker” is such a giant, filth-caked monolith, that it’s almost futile trying to analyze on a song-by-song basis. Everything blends together in a kind of grey gloom and haze. Presented in a disgusting, thick full-color casewrapped tip-on sleeve with black innersleeve and a digital download card. This is a landmark - sick and primitive!) 12.00

PANOPTICON - Kentucky DLP (flenser - Finally, Panopticon’s most coveted release is available on vinyl again! Kentucky was lauded as an instant classic of North American black metal and experimental metal upon its initial 2012 release; it sold out immediately and is now highly sought-after. The Flenser is proud to reissue Panopticon’s seminal achievement with all-new artwork. Kentucky is the work of Austin Lunn, the group’s singular mastermind. Whereas other Panopticon releases have tackled political and personal subject matter, Kentucky is a tribute to the woodsy territory of Lunn’s home state, its coal-mining days of old and the haunting aesthetics of its environment. A seamless melding of black metal with bluegrass and traditional songcraft, the recording features the croons of a fiddle, banjo and tin whistle alongside aggressive guitars, caveman drums and Panopticon’s trademark post-rock ambiance.) 23.00

PANOPTICON / VESTIGES – split LP (flenser - Washington, DC’s Vestiges and Louisville, KY’s Panopticon have teamed up for a split album on The Flenser. The limited-edition LP contains two of Vestiges’ strongest songs yet—18 minutes of material—and three unreleased tracks by Panopticon (including a Suicide Nation cover). Vestiges formed in January of 2010 and have already released several critically acclaimed EPs and full-lengths that blend hardcore, black metal, crust, D-beat, screamo and post-rock influences. One-man North American black metal entity Panopticon has almost a dozen releases under its belt over the past six years, and Metal Underground called the band “... far from traditional, and always dynamic.” In 2012, they released their black metal / bluegrass hybrid masterpiece album Kentucky to great critical acclaim.  “... this split should be noted as one of the best exemplifications of where extreme music is....” —CVLT Nation) 17.00

POLYPHONIC SIZE - Earlier / Later LP (minimal wave - We are pleased to present an LP of selections from the prolific Belgian synthpop band POLYPHONIC SIZE. Headed by ROGER-MARC VANDE VOORDE, Polyphonic Size formed in 1979. In December of that year, they released their first record, the Algorhythmic EP on Sandwich Records, an independent label founded by Michel Lambot. After a second EP (Pragmatic Songs), Roger-Marc got in touch with JEAN-JACQUES BURNEL (THE STRANGLERS), who offered to produce the next single, Nagasaki Mon Amour. This first musical collaboration was followed by many others, including an outrageous and robotic cover of the Rolling Stones’ classic, “Mother’s Little Helper.” On April 3, 1981, Polyphonic Size gave their very first concert at the First Belgian Rhythm Box Contest, in Brussels. The Earlier / Later LP are remastered selections, curated mainly from Polyphonic Size’s early output as a band, from when they formed in 1978 to when they began working with JJ Burnel in 1980. The tracks on side A represent their early period were recorded between 1978-1980 and the side B tracks, recorded between 1980-1982, are representative of how their sound evolved whilst working with a producer. The LP is pressed on transparent red 180 gram vinyl, housed in a heavy printed sleeve with text overlay printed on a clear vinyl outer sleeve, and limited to 999 hand-numbered copies.) 25.00

PRIMITIVE HEARTS - High & Tight LP (fdh - “PRIMITIVE HEARTS finally bring their first full length album to the table, following up their recent 7” on the band’s own No Rules Records. This Oakland, CA based power trio have undoubtedly mastered the brass-knuckled, bubblegum garage-pop sound. Blasting through 12 three chord power pop hits in under 25 minutes, Primitive Hearts have learned to channel the aspects of all of your current west coast favorites. They somehow capture the vintage R&B hooks of Shannon and the Clams, the sloppy rawness of Nobunny, the pop sensibility of Hunx, all with the energy of Mean Jeans. This record is a perfect, feel-good anthem for the upcoming 2013 summer.) 13.00

THE GUTTER #1 - An anthology of UK DIY COMIX £2

We’re two guys (Owen and Sion) who’ve decided to start spending our money/time/sanity on creating a small independent D.I.Y comic publishing press. We met because we’ve played in and are playing in bands (Joanna Gruesome and Saturday’s Kids respectively) that have been involved in what can broadly be described as a ‘UK DIY scene’. After realising we had a mutual interest in comics/graphic novels/graphic narratives and the comix explosion we’re experiencing in the UK right now, we figured it would be cool to apply the production/artistic ethic (the way we make records) that informs us musically to the creation of comic books. Seemed like a fun way to lose money.

Anyway here is our first release, it came out about a week ago we had a release show with bands etc in jacobs market cardiff and we have already sold out half our press so i don't think they will be around for too long.

BUY IT FROM HERE: http://spacejunkiepress.bigcartel.com/p … -diy-comix

SJP 001- This is Space Junkie Press' first ever release. THE GUTTER , named so after the spaces between panels in comic books, is an anthology of 2-page black and white strips.

We’ve drawn from a diverse pool of artists we admire/are friends with/ have stalked from a distance and compiled a 24 page (A4 comic book with colour card back + front).

The tone of these stories varies from dark to hallucinatory to stoned to heart-warming. Some strips were completed by artists who’d never drawn a comic before, some strips are from people with impressive back-catalogues. There was no thematic premise as such, but it definitely feels like there’s been a weird consistency to all of our submissions. Expect strips from artists such as Sam Watkins/Dean Smithers, Gemma Batten, our own Sion Thomas . The cover was done by Christopher Guest.

THE GUTTER #2 will be hitting the shelves sometime in November.

hi
arrived some weeks ago debut on vinyl for GRIME (new band from same town of THE SECRET and with an ex-members of the secret) for me willl be consider like rookie of the year :-)
this is their first release after demo pressed on cd by uk label mordgrimm

i have a sort of distribution for europe (label write for an eventually trade)

listen this awesome vinyl at
http://grime666.bandcamp.com/

and here you could read something about
“The only possible explanation for Deteriorate is that the band found a deeper basement to record in, under a filthier murder shack….this album will crush your moral compass until you’re making a call about doing something bad. And that’s a good thing.” – Decibel Magazine
“Every second is filled with negativity, bad tidings and woe which when thrown together make one of the most oppressive sounding records I have heard in a long time.” – The Sleeping Shaman
“Mental health is a fragile thing. One minute, birds are chirping and the sun is beaming. But that sunshine can quickly turn to despair, emptiness and aggression. Some people turn to pharmaceuticals, crime, or suicide, but fortunately, the members of GRIME chose instead to channel their suffering into music, and if you are a fan of sludgy howling insanity, then their new album Deteriorate may cure what ails you…This album is a great example of capturing, channeling, and expelling negativity and hatred.” – Invisible Oranges
“Deteriorate is an eight song chug that sounds like a train pushing through a tar pit…From there on it’s clear that GRIME are pushing right into it without any relenting. Feedback and slow, crushing instruments fill every track. Every track follows in this style as though the band were pushing knee-deep through the dead.” – Metal Injection
“‘Vile’ and ‘repulsive’ are two words that come immediately to mind after hearing this filthy slab and I’m sure Italy’s GRIME would be thrilled by that. They obviously set out to make one hateful chunk of sludge/doom here and they succeeded at that.” – Doommantia
“With this album the Italian sludge-meisters have delivered filth-laden journey into the ugliest recesses of humanity. This sure ain’t pretty; it won’t pound you into the ground, it’ll drag you in feet first and screaming.” – The Lair of Filth
A few minutes in the universe of these guys and you will scream in a high-pitch/growl voice “SLUDGEEEEEE!!!!” Oh my fuckin’ god… This is exactly what we fans of old-school sludge needed. – CVLT Nation
“…dirty-as-fuck…” – Pure Grain Audio

Robotic Empire announces ALPACA debut album release + massive update

http://www.roboticempire.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/alpaca750.jpg

We are stoked to announce that Los Angeles / Brooklyn duo ALPACA will release their debut album Demimonde via Robotic Empire this October! Comprised of vocalist Justin Nuckols and multi-instrumentalist Allen Blickle, Demimonde was recorded across locations in New York and the members' native Virginia.

Much of ALPACA's material was initially created during arduous tour schedules for BARONESS, the accomplished hard rock band for which Blickle drummed. The dance, pop, and melody-driven compositions Blickle crafted for ALPACA juxtapose with Nuckols’ darker, groove-focused, and harmonic vocal explorations.

Blickle and Nuckols (who also are ex-step brothers) hunkered down in Brooklyn during the winter of 2012-2013, expanding their mutual visions and perfecting mixes, ultimately finishing a body of work many years in the making. The end-result is a stunning debut, which we are thrilled to release to the world both on vinyl and digitally.

Demimonde will be available in October, and a teaser trailer can be viewed on ALPACA's YouTube channel:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=apkvjywTR9k

We've known Allen a long time, and it's been amazing to watch this longrunning project gradually develop from self-recordings into a full-fledged, killer album. Majorly looking forward to releasing this come October, with lots of cool previews on deck in the weeks to come.

ALPACA is pretty switched on with the electronic omnipresence, so if you're also inclined: Follow and Like and Share and all that good stuff!
